 The Cutters delighted a sell-out schoolday crowd by coming from behind to defeat the Sussex Skyhawks 4-3.
Cutters Rally Past Sussex
WEST HAVEN- The New Haven County Cutters used a two-run seventh inning rally to defeat the Sussex Skyhawks, 4-3, Tuesday afternoon in game two of a three-game series before a School Day sell-out crowd of 4,137 at Yale Field on Tuesday. Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Cutters' right fielder Jeremy Pickrel tripled to lead off the frame and would come around to score on an error to tie contest, 3-3.
Cutters' starter RHP Joslin Ramirez lasted 5.0 innings, allowing three runs on six hits in a no decision. RHP Tom Rispoli (1-1) threw two-thirds of an inning in relief and collected his first win as a Cutter.

Thunder Blank Defenders
TRENTON, N.J. - Joba Chamberlain struck out nine over five scoreless innings in his AA debut as the Trenton Thunder completed a double-header sweep over the Connecticut Defenders with a 2-0 whitewashing in the nightcap before 5,124 fans at Waterfront Park. Chamberlain (1-0) allowed three hits and a walk in his first start since being promoted from Class A Advanced Tampa, where he ws 4-0 with a 2:03 ERA in seven starts.
In the first game, Trenton's Jeff Marquez tossed the first complete-game by a Thunder pitcher in 2007, allowing one unearned run, as Trenton beat Connecticut, 3-1.

The Defenders are running a special Father’s Day promotion for Sunday, June 24 at Dodd Stadium. Dads will report to the Defenders home batting cage to receive their assignments for the day, just like the pros. They will participate in a stretching session with Defenders' professional trainer, Anthony Reyes, take batting practice and finally take the field to show us what they've got and play in a real game.
Members of the Defenders field staff and players are expected to make some guest appearances to provide some coaching advice and tips. The game will be just like playing at Dodd Stadium on a regular game day with the starting line-ups being announced, music and video board graphics.

Curve Rout Rock Cats
ALTOONA, Pa. - Altoona lost electricity but still had plenty of power as Brett Roneberg and Steven Pearce smacked two homers apiece in a 13-3 rout of the Rock Cats before 2,382 fans at Blair County Ballpark on Tuesday.
Roneberg ripped a solo blast in the first inning and a two-run shot in the fourth-his fourth and fifth homers of the year-when the Curve tallied three times for a 9-0 lead. He has five dingers this year. Trevor Plouffe belted his fifth home run with two men aboard in the seventh for New Britain.
