Quinnipiac senior guard James Feldeine has been named NEC and Connecticut 6 Player of the Week.
Quinnipiac’s James Feldeine has been named co-Northeast Conference Player of the Week. Feldeine averaged 18.3 points per game and moved into 26th place on the all-time Quinnipiac career scoring list in helping the Bobcats to a 3-0 week.

In earning NEC weekly accolades for the third time in his career, Feldeine shot 60.0 percent from the floor on 21-for-35 shooting, including a 61.5 percent (8-for-13) from three-point territory.

The New York native, who played high school ball at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, began the week with a 19-point, six-rebound effort on 8-for-12 shooting in the Bobcats’ 88-75 victory over Brown. In just 23 minutes against in-state rival Central Connecticut State, Feldeine scored 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting, including a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, as the Bobcats cruised past the Blue Devils, 76-45, in New Britain. Feldeine capped off the week with 24 points on 8-for-14 shooting in an 80-66 victory at Bryant.

Currently with 1,086 career points, the 6-4 senior guard passed four former Bobcat standouts—Phil Donofrio (’62), Joe Gaetano (‘59), DeMario Anderson (’08) and Franklin Johnson (’73)— on the all-time Quinnipiac career scoring list this week. For the season, Feldeine is averaging 18.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game, and is shooting 46.5 percent from the floor—36.5 percent from downtown—and is shooting 77.9 percent from the charity stripe.

Feldeine shares the weekly conference award with Travis Taylor, a 6-8 sophomore forward from Monmouth. In addition, Feldeine became the second Bobcat to be named Connecticut 6 Player of the Week joining teammate Justin Rutty who earned that title on Nov. 22. The Connecticut 6 consists all of the state’s Division I teams besides UConn (Quinnipiac, Yale, Sacred Heart, Central, Hartford and Fairfield).
